The Modi government was re-elected to power with better margin. While the population was happy with the performance of the government in other areas, economic growth and jobs needed improvement. Despite the infrastructure spending, growth was anemic and was unable to permeate through the economy. Economist, policy advisors and others seemed out of playbook. India needed a new growth model.
